I’ve missed the slipstream!!

We are half way through January and I’m still not feeling the new year. I’m happy enough but I’m also overwhelmed. I’m overwhelmed by the amount of things I want to get done this year.

The theme for our family this year being something to do with growing love decluttering stuff.

All I want to do is drink tea and binge watch box sets.

I started the year in Lanzarote our families paradise. The isle that one day we hope to live.

While we were there my head filled with plans of what i wanted to to when i got home.

We got home and I volunteered to help out at the last few shows of panto.

Now I feel I’ve missed the new year slipstream.

I still want to declutter the house and today I made a start.

Do I feel better? No!

I’ve only done a little bit.

Maybe I need to jump on the Chinese New Year for my new year??

Catch that slipstream?

I know people say there’s no time like the present but I need that slipstream. I need the good vibes all around.

Next week maybe I may find it.

Who knows

Does anyone else feel like this?

Is it just me?

Have you managed to get on with your new year goals??

Goals & plans.

So it’s that time of the year.

The first day of the year.

Resolutions and goals  have been made and people all over are signing up to gym memberships they will only use once.

There are people throwing Ciggys in the bin only to fish them back out later when the kids are doing their heads in. The alcohol has been poured down the sink. All apart from that trifle sherry at the back of the cupboard that you know you’ll regret drinking later.

I this year am doing away with resolutions and sticking to my goals list.

Work goals

I would love to call my blogging & vlogging my work  so one of my goals is to be more disciplined with my blog. Connect and contact more brands & companies for opportunities.

Volunteering

I volunteer at the theatre and I love it. I love the buzz of working back stage on a show night but as a mum of two small children and a wife to a geek who often works away it’s not really an option to make this my career. So whenever I have the opportunity I am going to continue volunteering at my local theatre.

Health

The past few years I have let my health slip. It’s hard to consentrate on yourself and look after two tiny humans at the same time. So this year I’m making it a priority. This is not just my physical health but most importantly for me my mental health.

Family

I would like to develop my relationships with my family not just as mother & child/ren but as a wife & stepmum and as a daughter to my mum.

Me

Ive mentioned my mental health above but I think al good portion of this can be lack of me time. I need to get better at giving my self breaks not just from being mum, wife but from social media & screens. I need to start giving myself time to craft or meditate.

Money
The past year we have lived pay packet to pay packet. Often worring if we had enough at the end of he month. This year I need to get better at budgeting and finding deals living a little more frugally.

Clutter free

I often blame the fact that we are a house where 5 year old twins live on all the clutter in the house. This year I need to get rid of some of the clutter. It’s not good for anyone’s mental health. It’s not good for the children who have some much stuff they don’t know what to play with.
So that’s my goals for the year. What are yours? Do you make resolutions?

Hit that follow button to see how I get on with all of these goals.

I will also be making videos on out some of my goals during January over on my YouTube channel. So head over there too and hit subscribe.

See you next time.

Hello 2017

Today is the last day of 2016.

I have made many blogging friends this year. I have found confidence again in my words. And I have started developing my YouTube channel & social media presence.

I am loving every moment of it.

I hope that 2017 can see me calling it my job. I would love to earn a little from my hard work.

I love writing about what is passionate to me.

I would never blog or vlog about something that doesn’t fit with my family or that dosent quite sit right with me.

Everything I review is 100% my own views.

Thank you all for supporting me this past year.

I hope that next year I can connect with more of you.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. We can develop our village online together.

So look out for exciting vlogs, emotional blogs and more Instagram photos from me in 2017.

See you all in 2017.

It’s our turn!

Last week J came bouncing out of school with the dreaded class bear!
If you don’t know about the class bear let me explain.

The class bear “Rainbow Bear” as ours is called is what we used to call the class pet. You know a hamster or rabbit you had to look after & keep alive for the weekend. Nowadays though it’s a non living pet. You take home the bear on Friday, then on Monday morning (when you have to remember a dozen other things like PE kit, snack money, book bag)  you take back the bear.

So all the children in school get a turn with the bear – The ones you don’t want to follow that have been on a some fancy trip or done really exciting things. Those you don’t want to follow because well you know the bear isn’t able to have a bath between his sleepovers. :-/

Then there is the ones you don’t want to follow because the child has set a bar of writing in the book themselves.

This! This is the one I had to follow.

So J who hates writing decided on Sunday night he would write all of his entry!  (for this I’m very proud of him)

Yes I’m aware That we have now become the one you don’t want to follow.

On Sunday evening we spent an hour printing pics out for the bears diary and spelling out the words J wanted to write.

The words Friggin Bear came to mind a few times.

The bear has gone back to school for now but as J & M are twins in the same class I’m sure he will be back soon.

Surviving The Christmas Market

Christmas for me and our family is the best time of the year. A great tradition for us is heading to a Christmas Market like Lincoln Christmas Market.

Lincoln Christmas Market

In 2019 the market will be held from Thursday 5th to Sunday 8th

Lincoln Christmas Market is one of the Biggest Christmas Markets in Europe with  250,000 + visitors soaking up the festive feel.

Wandering around the 250 plus stalls with mulled wine wafting through the historic and  picturesque streets.

Other Christmas Markets

Throughout England more and more Christmas markets are popping up.

I do love a market especially around Christmas time. You often get more artisan style stalls over the festive period and buying your Christmas gifts at these markets is a great way to support local producers.

Planning ahead

Heading to a festive market especially with anxiety can be a daunting prospect! Planning ahead is the best way to feel less stressed.

Here are a few things to help me survive my day out!

Tips To Survive Christmas Market

  • Travel – How am I going to get there? Make sure you are not already stressed from taking a wrong turn or because you are running late for a train. If its a big Christmas Market be aware that some roads may be closed
  • Parking – Is there a park and ride? DO you have change for the meter?
  • Clothing – Make sure you have suitable clothing & footwear. There will be alot of walking and you will no doubt have lots of bags to carry. You dont want to get to hot!
  • Have your Christmas list with you! That way you know who your buying for and roughly what you want to get
  • Get a shopping list too – Are there some things you would like to purchase on the day? A snow globe or some Christmas potpourri maybe?
  • Stick to your budget! – If you have a budget for the day dont go over it! Do you really need another candle holder?
  • Make stops throughout the day for food & Drink.  Don’t just fill up on samples and Glühwein Make sure you hydrate with water or a cuppa!

Have you been to a Christmas Market? What is your must buy?
